“The Godfather of the Dead” George A. Romero has passed away at the age of 77.
He was known for making the zombie genre what it is today. He made the classics Night of the Living Dead and Dawn of the Dead.
Romero was battling lung cancer and passed away in his sleep.
He was a staple in the horror community that will be missed. His contributions to the genre have inspired many creating new types of horror and zombie movies that are beloved by fans everywhere.
He was known for more then just the zombie genre. He also directed Creepshow and Dark Half.
He was developing a new “Dead” movie, Road of the Dead to be directed by Matt Birman.
